The clash between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup Super Four stage was intense. While the battle was not fiery with bat and ball, it was far more heated in terms of intimidation. Pakistan players, especially Haris Rauf, tried to get under the skin of Indian openers Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma when they punished them with big sixes and rapid boundaries.
What Led To Shubman Gill's Social Media Post?
Notably, after Abhishek Sharma hit a boundary off Rauf, the Pakistan pacer walked up to Gill with a few words to pressurise him. Abhishek, however, mouthed back, seemingly telling Rauf to go back and focus on his bowling.
Things looked ready to boil over when the umpires quickly intervened to calm the situation. Earlier, Gill had also exchanged heated words with Shaheen Afridi, further sparking tension between the two camps.

Gill-Abhishek Duo Lead India's Win
Speaking of his innings, while chasing Pakistan’s 172, Gill smashed 47 runs off 28 balls at a strike rate of 167.86. He stitched a crucial 105-run stand with Abhishek Sharma, which laid the perfect foundation for India’s six-wicket win with seven balls to spare.
Though India suffered a mini-collapse with Gill departing in the 10th over to Faheem Ashraf, Suryakumar Yadav falling immediately in the 11th, and Abhishek exiting in the 13th, Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya guided India home comfortably.
On the bowling front, Shivam Dube surprisingly emerged as the pick of the bowlers with a two-wicket haul, conceding 33 runs. Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya also chipped in with one wicket each to restrict Pakistan to a modest total.
