Every time India and Pakistan clash in a tournament, fans eagerly await the thrilling experience. But the narrative has shifted, while India has consistently climbed higher with strong performances, Pakistan has often faltered, struggling to find its rhythm
In the last few clashes, the hype was high, but the Men in Blue registered almost one-sided victories. After the latest triumph, Suryakumar Yadav’s fiery response on the rivalry added fuel to the fire, rubbing salt into Pakistan’s fresh wounds.
Suryakumar Yadav Shrugs, Rivalry Who?
Since the earliest time of the game, the India-Pakistan rivalry has been the biggest attraction as fans love to enjoy the nail-biting clashes on 22 yards. While expectations were that the rivalry would only grow fiercer with time, the script has taken a twist. India kept sharpening their game, but Pakistan faltered with form. In the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, the arch-rivals met twice, and the Men in Blue had the last laugh in both encounters.
In recent years, the Men in Green have been left puzzled against their arch-rivals, with the once fierce contest slowly losing its spark. After Team India defeated Pakistan in the Super Four Clash, Suryakumar Yadav was asked about the rivalry, and his bold comment stunned the cricket world.
“To this question, I want to say one thing. I feel you all should stop asking questions about this India vs Pakistan rivalry. According to me, if two teams are playing 15-20 matches and the scoreline is 7-7, or 8-7, then you can call it good cricket, you call it rivalry,” SKY said.
“If it’s 13-0, 10-1, I am not sure what the stat is. But this is not a rivalry anymore. I feel we played better cricket than them between 7-15, and we bowled better also,” he added.
India Keeps The Rivalry One-Sided Against Pakistan
After a one-sided face-off in the group stage, the arch-rivals met again in the Super Four stage and India’s domination remained alive. Batting first, Pakistan faced some blows while facing India’s lethal bowling, but Sahibzada Farhan’s knock of 58 runs in 45 runs helped them to put 171 runs on the board. But their woes deepened into the second innings.
Chasing down the total, Team India gave a thrilling start as Abhishek Sharma started off with a massive six. Along with Shubman Gill, he stitched a record-breaking 105-run opening partnership, providing a strong base for the side.
Though a couple of quick wickets followed, Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya steadied the ship, guiding India home with authority. The Men in Blue sealed yet another emphatic win over their rivals, clinching victory by 6 wickets.
