In a dramatic incident, Indian opener Abhishek Sharma had a fiery clash with Pakistani speedster Haris Rauf amid the ongoing Asia Cup encounter between the arch-rivals at Dubai International Stadium. After getting India off to a flying start, Abhishek confronted Haris Rauf, as the duo had a heated exchange between them in the second half of the match.

Abhishek-Rauf Clash Grabs Limelight Amid IND-PAK Tensions

As we all know, the recent border conflict between India and Pakistan had already set the stage for a spicy encounter between the rival countries in the Asia Cup. While India decided against shaking hands with their Pakistani counterparts and openly praised their armed forces for their bravery during the Operation Sindoor, Pakistan complained of unfair treatment by match referee Andy Pycroft and creating a lot of buzz for a potential boycott.

The sequence of events made the India vs Pakistan Super Four clash worth waiting for. Eventually, after Pakistan posted a respectable total of 171 runs, Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill ensured a dream start for India with scintillating stroke play.

The verbal spat between Haris Rauf and Abhishek Sharma happened at the end of the fifth over. As soon as Shubman Gill smashed Rauf's back of the length delivery for a boundary, Abhishek had a go at the Pakistani seamer, with their tussle spicing things up in the middle.

Why did Abhishek Sharma fight with Haris Rauf?

Although it's unclear what the matter was, it seemed like Abhishek told Rauf to go back to his run-up and focus on bowling when the Pakistani seamer tried to pressurise Gill with his war of words. The on-field umpire separated the two before things could take an ugly turn in Dubai.

Just before these two had an ugly spat, Shubman Gill had exchanged a few words with Shaheen Afridi, with tensions brewing between players from both sides in the cracking contest. Nevertheless, India have already got a dream start to their innings, with Abhishek and Gill steadily guiding them to their second straight win over Pakistan in the tournament.
