India's chase of 173 against Afghanistan was eventually finished inside 16 overs, thanks to valuable efforts from opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and middle-order striker Shivam Dube, who took all the bowlers to the cleaners with as many as ten sixes between them. Dube, who also bagged a wicket today, spoke about his experience after the second game of the T20I series.

Speaking during the post-match presentation, Shivam, who scored 63* with five fours and four sixes, mentioned that skipper Rohit Sharma is satisfied with his performance.

Further, he talked about his role in the game, which was to go after the spinners, but his and Yashasvi's mutual understanding was to finish the game as early as possible.

"The skipper is really happy with my performance, he told me well played. (On Jaiswal) We both are stroke players, we know our game. My role was to take on the spinners, but our plan was to both attack and finish the game early."

However, even after his scintillating performance, Shivam expressed his disappointment that they should have finished earlier, considering how they played. Adding that, he has also worked on his skills while focusing on the mental aspect.

"There wasn't any target in mind, but we should have finished the game earlier. There are many things that I have worked on, apart from skill it is about how mentally you prepare for the T20 game. How to handle pressure, and deciding which bowlers to take on. It isn't important to hit every ball,"

Moreover, Dube admitted that he couldn't bowl well today, unlike the last game, as he went away for a few runs, but he understands that it is part and parcel of T20 cricket.

"I have been working on my bowling as well, happy that it worked out in the first game but not as much today. But that is how T20 cricket is."

After this victory, Dube will take a lot to the 3rd T20I that will be played in Bengaluru on 17th January.
