Samson shared how Shastri’s message gave him the confidence boost he needed. That one hundred against Bangladesh set him up, and he hasn’t looked back since.

“We’re happy it happened, and I’m happy for everyone,” he said, showing his gratitude for the belief Shastri placed in him. It’s been a golden stretch for Samson, who’s embracing his role as an opener with flair.

Taking Down South Africa in Style

In the first T20I against South Africa, Samson didn’t hold back. He launched into the Proteas bowlers right from the start, showing pure intent. Runs came quickly with Samson hitting seven fours and a whopping 10 sixes.

By the end of his explosive knock, India had put a strong 202 runs on the board. His aggressive approach paid off, leaving South Africa reeling. The Proteas couldn’t find any rhythm in their chase and crumbled to just 141, giving India a comfortable win.

Samson on His Knock and His Intent

For Samson, it’s all about that positive intent in T20 cricket. “There’s not enough time in T20s to just look and go,” he shared. He believes diving in headfirst is the way to go. Although Samson admitted it’s “too early” to fully feel the weight of his knock, he’s sure the excitement will sink in soon.

India is looking confident with Samson at the top. As they head into the second match on November 10, fans will be hoping for another show from this fearless batter.
