The ODI series between West Indies and England turned out to be quite a thrilling one with the Men in Maroon registering a much-needed series win. The stage is now set for the shortest format of the game and the first match of the series will be played at Kensington Oval Bridgetown.
It is a long T20I series with five matches in it and both teams have some big superstars back in their squad. For the visitors, England, Jos Buttler is back as captain after missing a lot of action due to injury post the T20 World Cup 2024. He will not don the wicketkeeping role and Phil Salt will be behind the stumps in this series. Both of them will open the batting as was the case in the T20 World Cup while Will Jacks is likely to bat at 3. He needs runs under his belt after failing in the ODI series and it would be interesting to see how he goes about this business.
Dan Mousley To Make His T20I Debut
Jacob Bethell is likely to take the number four position while Dan Mousley, another batting all-rounder is set to make his T20I debut. The middle order will also comprise of experienced duo of Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran while Jofra Archer will lead the pace attack with Jamie Overton and Reece Topley as other two seamers in the XI. Adil Rashid will be the lone specialist spinner and with almost all players possessing all-round skills, England are likely to continue with their aggressive mindset with the bat.
