Russell back in Windies squad [Source: @KkrKaravan/X.Com]
West Indies announced their T20I squad for the upcoming series against the England side and their deadly trio, Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell and Shimron Hetmyer are back in the team. All the three players missed the last T20I series Vs Sri Lanka due to personal reasons, but are back to strengthen the team composition.
The team has plethora of young talents alongside some experienced players as the Windies look to win the T20I series, just like they won the ODIs against a struggling English side.
Possible team composition for West Indies
However, before the start of the T20Is, West Indies have decided to hand a 2-game ban to pacer Alzarri Joseph, who stormed off the field after an altercation with skipper Shai Hope in the ODIs. In his place, the pace departed will be carried by Shamar Joseph and Matthew Forde.
Batting has always been West Indies' biggest strength in T20Is, and the likes of Pooran and Russell will form a deadly duo in the middle-order. They will get plenty of support from the likes of Shai Hope, who has rejuvenated his game in the shortest format.
However, the Windies team has a strong love for all-rounders, and as a result, someone like Shimron Hetmyer will miss out, as captain Rovman Powell and Romario Shepherd will play as the all-rounders.
Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie will be the two key spinners as England generally tend to struggle against quality spin bowling. The only chinks in their armour is the pace bowling, but the home side has enough quality to compensate for it.
