Rilee Rossouw in action for Jaffna Kings during LPL 2024 (SLC)
Rilee Rossouw smeared 108 unbeaten from just 50 balls against Colombo Strikers to orchestrate a remarkable seven-wicket win for Jaffna Kings in match number 13 of the ongoing LPL 2024 season.
The South African-based top-order batter bashed Matheesha Pathirana for a boundary in the 17th over of the Jaffna Kings run-chase to race to his seventh T20 century from just 44 deliveries.
Notably, the innings marked the fastest-ever ton in the history of the LPL, bettering Kusal Perera’s blistering 50-ball hundred from last week.

Chasing 189 against the Colombo Strikers, Jaffna Kings number 3 Rilee Rossouw arrived to the crease following the dismissal of opener Kusal Mendis at 9-1 in the third over. The South African batting juggernaut went on to notch up a match-defining 120-run partnership for the third wicket with half-centurion Avishka Fernando.
Rossouw himself smacked 12 boundaries and six sixes, and raced to a 44-ball hundred to register the fastest-ever century in the history of the LPL. The cricketer also steered his team to a seven-wicket win in the penultimate over through his unbeaten 108-run knock from 50 deliveries.
Earlier in the match, Colombo Strikers amassed 188-8 courtesy of a fluent 32-ball 58 from number three Glenn Phillips and a cautious 34 from opening batter Angelo Perera.
Among the Jaffna Kings bowlers, Azmatullah Omarzai and Asitha Fernando picked up two wickets each in the high-scoring innings while Pramod Madushan and Tabraiz Shamsi also delivered timely breakthroughs in their respective spells.
Later in the run-chase, Avishka Fernando provided much assistance to Rilee Rossouw by pounding 58 runs from his end. Their collective match-winning efforts with the bat took Jaffna Kings to the top of the LPL 2024 points table.
