The 22-year-old also scaled a huge 2024 batting record through the course of his latest knock, going past India’s regular skipper Rohit Sharma and dashing Afghanistan opener Ibrahim Zadran in the process.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who failed to make into the playing XI during the entirety of India’s victorious 2024 T20 World Cup campaign in the USA and West Indies, made a return into the group for team’s third T20I of the series against Zimbabwe on July 10.

Opening the innings with captain Shubman Gill at the Harare Sports Club, the elegant left-hander smacked 36 runs from 27 balls with four boundaries and a couple of sixes to his name.

Through the course of his powerplay blitz for Team India, young Yashasvi Jaiswal soared past Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran (844 runs) and legendary Indian opener Rohit Sharma (833 runs) to become the leading run-getter across all international formats in the year 2024.
