Pakistan cricketer Gull Feroza has said that the Pakistan women's cricket team is not interested in playing in India. Her comments come as tensions continue between the two countries following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack.

The ICC recently approved a "hybrid model" for tournaments involving India and Pakistan. According to this model, if either country hosts a major tournament, matches between India and Pakistan will take place at a neutral venue.

This decision came after India refused to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy earlier this year, choosing to play their matches in Dubai instead.

Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team Unlikely To Travel To India

That being said, Pakistan’s women’s team qualified for the upcoming Women’s ODI World Cup by winning all 5 of their qualifying matches. The tournament is scheduled to take place in India in September.

However, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that the team will not travel to India and will play their matches at a neutral venue instead. Moreover, after the deadly terrorist attack that happened in Pahalgam, Kashmir, Pakistan’s arrival in India is likely ruled out.

Amid this, Pakistan’s women cricketer Gull Feroza has said that her team is not interested in playing in India.

“We know this much that we will play in Asian conditions, and we are not playing in India. This is clear. Neither are we interested in playing in India. So, wherever it is played – hopefully in Sri Lanka or Dubai – those conditions are similar to the ones you get in Asia. The Qualifiers were at home and the staff prepared tracks accordingly," Feroza told Pak Passion.

Meanwhile, after the Pahalgam attack, tensions between the two nations remain high. There have been reports of unprovoked firing along the Line of Control, adding to the already strained situation.

BCCI Denies Requesting India-Pakistan Separation In ICC Events

After the tragic Pahalgam attacks, many rumours began to spread about India and Pakistan possibly being separated in future ICC tournaments. However, the BCCI has now cleared the air, saying no such official request has been made yet. BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla confirmed that the board will act only after receiving instructions from the Indian government.

The next major event is the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, which will be hosted by India. However, this tournament will follow a round-robin format, meaning every team plays each other. So, there are no fixed groups, and the India-Pakistan grouping issue does not arise here.
