'Pakistan Are Struggling…' Broad Slams Masood-Led Side After Bangladesh Failure

Stuart Broad believes England will start out as favourites over hosts Pakistan in the upcoming three-match Test series in Multan and Rawalpindi. The former England cricketer cited Pakistan’s recent all-format struggles for the same, and believes that the Englishmen will find it ideal to pile on the misery of the hosts over the course of the next few weeks.

It is worth noting that Pakistan recently lost its two-match home series to Bangladesh by a 0-2 margin. Moreover, the Pakistan cricket team has also not won a single Test match in home conditions since beating South Africa in January 2021, and have lost three of its last four home series.

Stuart Broad reckons England will beat ‘struggling PAK’

Former England fast bowler Stuart Broad believes that Ben Stokes and co. will try to apply pressure on the struggling Pakistan team during their upcoming three-match challenge in Multan and Rawalpindi. He said:

“Pakistan have not been playing the best cricket. They’ve been struggling, so England should see that as a positive and go there trying to apply pressure to that team as soon as they possibly can.”

Mere months after Ben Stokes was appointed as full-time national Test skipper, England demonstrated earlier signs of their aggressive newfound brand of cricket by trashing Pakistan 3-0 in an away series back in late-2022. While the Englishmen had already secured emphatic wins over New Zealand, India and South Africa in the lead-up to the series, the 3-0 win over Pakistan further glorified their no-holds-barred approach in Tests, now popularly known as ‘BazBall’.

The first Test of the three-match series against Pakistan will commence at the Multan Cricket Stadium on October 7. The series also constitutes a part of the ongoing 2023-25 WTC cycle, where England is currently ranked fourth on the points table while Pakistan is languishing at number eight.
