Hardik Pandya's transfer from Gujarat Titans to Mumbai Indians just before the auction has been a hot topic in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. This move left Gujarat Titans fans displeased, while Mumbai Indians supporters were also discontented when Rohit Sharma was asked to step down from the captaincy.

The decision to remove Rohit Sharma from the captaincy has sparked discontent among fans. In the last three games, Hardik Pandya has faced booing from both home and away supporters, reaching unprecedented levels of animosity.

This behavior has raised concerns among passionate cricket enthusiasts. Even after Sanjay Manjrekar highlighted the issue during the live broadcast before the match between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede Stadium, the booing persisted.

Ravi Shastri, breaking his silence on the controversy, clarified that the decision to remove Rohit Sharma from the captaincy was not made by the player himself, but rather by the team owners who have invested in the franchise.

Talking on Star Sports network, the former Indian player and coach said: “The captaincy issue between Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya could’ve been handled better, but it is owners call who they want as the captain. They spend the money.”

Gujarat Titans experienced significant success under Hardik Pandya's leadership, as he guided the team to victory in their inaugural season and came close to winning a second consecutive title if not for Ravindra Jadeja's spirited performance in the finals.

Mumbai Indians will aim to secure their first victory of the season when they face Delhi Capitals in their fourth game of the league.

Playing in front of their home crowd, Mumbai will be eager to kickstart their season and turn things around before it's too late.
