Since Kolkata Knight Riders completed an undisputed domination in IPL 2024 by thrashing Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final, Gautam Gambhir has become the talk of the town like no one else. 

A team that had been struggling to get their hands on the trophy for 10 long years since Gambhir, the captain, lifted it twice in three years between 2012 and 2014, won the title once again immediately after Gambhir's appointment as their mentor. Gambhir is expected to become India's next head coach, replacing Rahul Dravid, if things go perfectly well.

To turn the journey into a much more fairytale story, Nitish Rana, who led KKR in IPL 2023, revealed a text he received from Gambhir right after the former congratulated him after quitting Lucknow Super Giants for KKR.

"Thanks Nitish for this message. This means something special. There is no better feeling in sports than standing on the podium and winning a trophy. Let's experience that," Gambhir wrote after Nitish dropped his congratulatory text.

Rana, who adores Gambhir like no one else, posted a photo on social media of him and the KKR mentor holding the IPL 2024 trophy in the dressing room. 

"In this era of Mamba Mentality, we’re soon all going to embrace the GG Mentality too," Nitish Rana captioned on Instagram while revealing Gambhir's text before IPL 2024.

Now only time will tell whether Gambhir will choose to join India or keep himself at KKR camp for the next few years.
