The former KKR star had previously led KKR to two IPL titles in 2012 and 2014 as captain. Returning as a mentor, he aimed to end their long wait for another trophy. On Sunday, he achieved this goal, helping KKR win their third IPL title, 12 years after their first win in 2012.

Now, Gautam Gambhir is the top candidate to become the next head coach of the Indian men's cricket team. Current coach Rahul Dravid’s term will end after the 2024 T20 World Cup, and he doesn’t want to reapply. 

The BCCI is looking for a new coach, and Gambhir is the most likely choice. The deadline to apply for the job is May 27.
