As the T20 World Cup 2024 approaches, opinions and suggestions for Team India have been pouring in, with Indian star batter Virat Kohli being a focal point of discussion. Known for silencing his critics, Kohli remains a crucial member of the India's 15-member squad.

Former Indian skipper Sanjay Manjrekar recently shared his thoughts on Kohli's T20 form, stating, "Virat is not the same T20 player he was two years ago." He also expressed confidence in both Kohli and Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, asserting that they would not repeat past mistakes.

"Rohit and Virat will not commit the same mistakes made in that semis (2022 vs England). It’s worth acknowledging that Virat is not the same T20 player he was two years ago. He must know deep down, surely, that the ‘outside noise’ has actually made him a better T20 batter today than he was two years ago,"Manjrekar said.

Kohli's performance in IPL 2024 was stellar, as he claimed the Orange Cap by amassing 741 runs at a pleasing strike rate of 154.70, including one century and five half-centuries.

Currently on a sanctioned break, Kohli might not join the Indian squad in New York ahead of their warm-up match against Bangladesh.
