The thrills of Ashes is known to the world, but in the ongoing edition of the historic Test series, England is facing the heat on the Aussie soil. After consecutive defeats, the visitors are buckling under pressure while Australia tightens its chokehold on the series.

As Ben Stokes and Co. are struggling in the series, they are facing immense criticism. Breaking his silence, the captain finally revealed the shocking truth behind England’s disastrous Ashes form and shared a stern message to the squad.

After a horrible defeat in the Perth Test, the world believed in England to make a comeback in the next match, but the comeback took a U-turn. Facing the Aussies in the pink-ball Test at the Gabba, England crumbled under pressure as Australia grabbed the momentum early on. Mitchell Starc and Michael Neser’s fiery spells ensured another emphatic pink-ball victory for the hosts.

While Australia cruised to an 8-wicket win at the Gabba, England came under a storm of criticism, with experts even questioning the future of Bazball. Following the defeat in the second Test match, Ben Stokes exposed the real reason behind England’s struggle.

“Do we need to start thinking about what mentality we are taking into those pressure moments? When we are on top we are great, and when behind the game we are also very good but when that moment is neck and neck we are not coming out on top on enough occasions,” he said.

After putting on a total of 334 while batting first, England’s bowling failure deepened their woes. After Australia’s masterclass, England gave them a 65-run target to win the match, and Australia marked the victory. Following the disastrous series start, he delivered a sharp warning to England’s struggling stars.

“There is a saying that we have said a lot here - Australia is not for weak men. A dressing room that I am captain of is not a place for weak men either,” he said.

After two glorious victories, Australia has taken the lead of the series by a 2-0 margin and has become the favourite of the series. With the next Test set in Adelaide, the hosts aim to continue their dominance while England desperately seeks a comeback.
