'No One Has Come…': Sunil Gavaskar Surprised by Lack of Contact from Current Indian Batters

Legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has expressed surprise that none of the current Indian batters have approached him for guidance lately.

Gavaskar, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest batters of all time, has been a vocal critic of India's batting performances in recent years.

In an interview with The Indian Express, Gavaskar said that he was surprised that no current Indian batters had come to him for advice. He said that he would be happy to help them if they asked, but that he did not want to "confuse them with too much information" as there are already two coaches in the team.

"No, no one has come. Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman regularly came to me. And they would approach me with a specific problem and you could tell them something which you had observed. I don't have an ego about this, I could go and talk to them but since there are two coaches — Rahul Dravid and Vikram Rathore – so sometimes you hold back since you don’t want to confuse them with too much information,"  said Sunil Gavaskar.

Gavaskar's comments come at a time when India's batting has been under scrutiny. The team's leading batters, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Ajinkya Rahane, have all struggled for runs in recent months. This has led to calls for a change in the batting approach, and some have even suggested that Gavaskar should be brought in as a consultant.

As a result of poor form of the Indian batters, the transition phase has started, with Pujara getting the axe from the Test team.
