On Wednesday, the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee announced Team India's 15-member squad for the T20I series against West Indies. While the majority of the squad was as anticipated, the exclusion of Rinku Singh has surprised many. Despite his impressive batting performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, the 25-year-old was overlooked for selection, leaving fans and pundits astonished.

During the IPL 2023 season, Rinku emerged as the leading run-scorer for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), amassing 474 runs in 14 matches at an outstanding average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.52. He displayed remarkable batting skills under pressure and played crucial roles in securing victories for his team.
