Reflecting on that memorable match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma shared his emotions and insights regarding the intense atmosphere and Kohli's match-winning performance.

In a high-pressure situation, India found themselves struggling to chase down Pakistan's total of 159. With early wickets falling, the team was in a precarious position, and nerves were running high. However, it was Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya's exceptional partnership that turned the tide for India.

Rohit Sharma reveals being nervous during IND-PAK MCG thriller

The game was slipping away, with the asking rate soaring above 10.00 per over. However, Kohli backed himself to take Haris Rauf to the cleaners, resulting in panic in the Pakistan cricket team. Virat Kohli scored 82* off 53 balls and re-established his status as the chase master.

After the match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma expressed his true emotions in a nervy and thrilling game. He revealed that being a nervous guy, he couldn't gather the guts to watch the game live.

"We were in trouble. I'm a very nervous guy so I was sitting inside the dressing room, couldn't watch it live, but Virat Kohli & Hardik Pandya's partnership turned the game on. I came out in the final overs and enjoyed the match," Rohit told ICC.

Sharma went into the dressing room only to witness Kohli and Pandya's masterclass from behind the glass. After India regained control of the game, Rohit Sharma eventually stepped outside the dressing room in the final overs to witness the conclusion of the nail-biting encounter.

That game will forever be remembered as one of the epic comebacks in the history of cricket. And the fact that it unfolded between the arch-rival nations India and Pakistan only adds to its significance.
