India A clinched another dominant victory to outclass Oman by 6 wickets and headed into the semi-finals unbeaten. After the bowlers' brilliant effort to restrict Oman to 140/5, Ayush Badoni and Tilak Varma's 85-run partnership, followed by Ramandeep Singh's late two sixes, propelled India to a successful chase. With that, India A topped Group B and will meet Afghanistan A in the semi-finals of the 2024 Emerging Asia Cup.

IND A vs OMN Highlights: Nadeem-Mirza's partnership tests India's patience

Oman opted to bat first but failed to capitalise on the powerplay advantage. Aamir Kaleem holed out to Tilak Varma at mid-on in an attempt to attack Aaqib Khan, whereas Nishant Sindhu cleaned up Jatinder Singh to reduce Oman to 33/3. Wasim Ali's 24 of 28 balls knock steered Oman to 80/4 before Mohammad Nadeem and Hammad Mirza stitched up a 50-run partnership, forcing India A captain to use as many as 8 bowling options. Nadeem fell short of his half-century to score 41 off 49, whereas Mirza stayed unbeaten for 28 off 15 as Oman finished with a respectable total of 140/5 at the end of the first 20 overs.

While the target seemed insignificant given India A's form and talent in this Emerging Asia Cup, Oman's bowlers were hell-bent on putting up a fight. Jay Odedra struck first to stun Anuj Rawat as the batter departed for just 8 off 11 balls. The big fish was Abhishek Sharma. Karan Sonavale produced a brilliant delivery to foil Abhishek's plans to attack as he holed out to Samay Shrivastava at cover point, and suddenly, India found themselves on the back foot a bit with 55/2 in the powerplay.

The asking rate dramatically came down to 2.5-3 per following Badoni's carnage.

He capped it off with another maximum to finish the game in style as India finished with 146/4 to stay unbeaten in the group stages of the Emerging Asia Cup 2024.
