India's young talent have done in the recent past but have often thrown their wicket away without leaving much impact on the game. Now, India's batting coach Vikram Rathour has brushed those concerns away, backing the star players Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer to perform well in the upcoming games.

Speaking during the press conference ahead of the second Test in Vishakapatnam, Rathour was confident that the trio would get better with time as they mature into better cricketers.

Further, he expects all of them to prove their once again in the longest format and urged others to be patient with batters. Rathour also mentioned that replacing senior players like Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane is not easy, so they must be persistent with the younger group and ensure proper backing.

“There are young batters in our team who have not played much Test cricket. So, we need to be a bit patient with them. Batters like (Shubman) Gill, (Yashasvi) Jaiswal and (Shreyas) Iyer will eventually start getting big runs, I’m sure of it.”

India's inability to score runs in the second innings of the first Test against England proved costly as the Ben Stokes-led side utilised the opportunity to win the game by a margin of 28 runs.

However, the Indian management will be wary of the challenge that is ahead of them and will be making apt strategies to get past the Three Lions in the second Test beginning from 2nd February.
