India's dynamic middle-order Shreyas Iyer has been a classic example of style and aggression with the bat, serving the country in the best fashion possible with the bat scoring runs whenever required, that too in crucial situations.

Iyer, who made his T20 debut in 2017 against New Zealand and ODI debut against Sri Lanka against Sri Lanka in the same year, has been honoured with an award by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) during the award show 'NAMAN'.

The right-hander was presented with the Best International Debut award for the year 2021-22 for his memorable innings against the BlackCaps at Green Park, Kanpur, where he stunned the opposition with a wonderful 105 in the first and 65 in the second innings to help India draw the game.

Shreyas, since then, has played 12 Tests in total with more than 700 runs at an average just below 40, while 105 remains his highest score.

Other award recipients in the same category were Mayank Agarwal for the 2019-20 season, Axar Patel in 2020-21 and Yashasvi Jaiswal in 2022-23 for their marvellous debut performances.

Iyer, meanwhile, will be preparing to take on the English side in the five-match Test series that begins on 25th January in Hyderabad, with the last game to be played in Dharamsala from 7th March.
