Uncapped Indian batter Sarfaraz Khan recently earned a well-deserved call-up for the second Test between India and England in Visakhapatnam. Following his inclusion, Sarfaraz expressed his admiration for captain Rohit Sharma, naming him as his favourite cricketer globally.

Leading up to the second Test against England, both Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul have been sidelined due to injuries. After which the selectors called-up Sarfaraz, Sourabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar to the squad for the upcoming match scheduled to commence on Friday.

The selection of Sarfaraz has sparked widespread discussions. The Mumbai-born batter, who has consistently proven himself in the domestic circuit, dedicated years of hard work to catch the attention of the selectors. Despite delivering impressive performances, he was previously overlooked for reasons unknown. Now, with this opportunity, Sarfaraz has a chance to present his case for inclusion in India’s playing XI for the second Test.

In an interview with Sports Yaari, Sarfaraz shed light on the camaraderie in the Mumbai dressing room, highlighting the popularity of the local lad- Rohit Sharma, whom he considers his favourite cricketer. Sarfaraz expressed admiration for Rohit's pull shots, citing the discussions in the dressing room about Rohit's three double hundreds.
