Cameron Green, Australia's all-rounder, has expressed confidence in contributing with the ball in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India.

Green's remarks came in response to Australian captain Pat Cummins' plan to increase the bowling workloads of both him and fellow all-rounder Mitchell Marsh during the intense five-match Test series.

Pat Cummins recently underscored the need to manage the workloads of Australia's frontline pace trio- Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood. He also stated that it is important to maintain this so the primary bowlers remain fresh and effective throughout the series.

Cameron Green has shared that his body is in excellent condition, which will allow him to handle the increased bowling workload.

“But now my body's in a really good place where I feel like I can contribute with bowling. Down the track, it is an option but at the moment I am very happy to be a genuine allrounder," Green concluded his point,” he added.

He humorously mentioned the challenge of bowling between the 70th and 80th overs when the ball is unresponsive, a task he often jokes about with Marsh. He is also enthusiastic about his role as a genuine all-rounder and emphasises his readiness to contribute both with the bat and ball.

“I have thought about it as an 'in 10 years' time sort of thing. But definitely, at the moment, I am very happy to contribute as much as I can. Physically I am in a really good place to be able to do that. We always laugh and joke between me and Mitch about who bowls those graveyard overs between the 70th and the 80th overs when the ball is not doing anything. We'll wait and see how we do it this summer,” Green told cricket.com.au.

In addition to his Test aspirations, Cameron Green is eager to play red-ball cricket for Western Australia in preparation for the series against India. He is also being mindful of maintaining his spot in Australia's white-ball squad with the Champions Trophy on the horizon.

The first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is set to take place at Perth Stadium from November 22 to November 26. The series is anticipated to be a fierce contest, particularly given India's recent dominance in Australia, having secured back-to-back series wins in 2018-19 and 2020-21.
