After back-to-back losses, Team India bounced back to register a win over West Indies in the third T20I, thus staying alive in the five-match series.

India batted, bowled and fielded brilliantly to hand a seven-wicket defeat to the hosts. Suryakumar Yadav was the best performer of the day, smashing a brilliant 83 while Tilak Varma also remained unbeaten on 49 as India success chased down a target of 160 runs.

Hardik Pandya smashed a six to win the game, but a controversy erupted as many criticised him of denying Tilak a chance to score a half-century. Varma remained unbeaten on 49, just a run short of reaching a half century, which could have been his second half century of the tour.

Joining the bandwagon which has been criticising Pandya, former India allrounder Irfan Pathan said in a tweet, "Mushkil kaam aap karo, Asaan kaam mein Kar leta hoo. Suna suna Sa lagta hai… (You do the tough task, I'll do the easy work. I've heard this before…)

Irfan hasn't provided a clarification regarding the target of his tweet, but there's widespread speculation that he criticized Hardik Pandya for his lower batting position. Additionally, some people linked the tweet to former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who took the winning runs in the 2011 World Cup final.

Dhoni's winning six had overshadowed Gautam Gambhir's fighting knock in the history-making game against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
