The Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) exam is widely regarded as one of India's most challenging tests, attracting numerous aspirants each year who strive to pass it and become IAS officers. However, only a select few manage to crack the exam and attain that prestigious title.

Quite interestingly, a former Indian cricketer cracked the UPSC exam before making his India debut, and he is also the only Indian cricketer to have appeared for the exam. He also presently serves as an Inspector within the Indian Customs & Central Excise Department.

Born in 1972, Amay Khurasiya had the privilege of playing alongside cricket legends such as Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid. Making his debut in first-class cricket at the tender age of 17, the southpaw went on to represent India in 1999 during the Pepsi Cup against Sri Lanka. Although he was a part of the 1999 Indian World Cup squad, he did not get the opportunity to play in any matches during the tournament.

His international cricket career was a short one. Khurasiya participated in only 12 ODIs for the Indian team, accumulating a total of 149 runs. His final appearance for India took place in 2001 against Sri Lanka. Talking about first-class cricket, Khurasiya compiled an impressive tally of over 7,000 runs across 199 matches for Madhya Pradesh.

Amay Khurasiya announced his retirement from first class cricket on 22 April 2007 after being dropped from Madhya Pradesh Ranji team. Post retirement, Amay has also coached players like Avesh Khan and Rajat Patidar.
