Cheteshwar Pujara, the veteran Indian batter, has rejoined Sussex for the ongoing County Championship Division Two 2024 season after a successful stint last year where he amassed 659 runs at an average of 61.28.

In the ongoing match between Middlesex and Sussex at Lord's, London, Pujara once again became the center of attention.

Middlesex won the toss and opted to bowl first, putting Sussex into bat. Sussex openers Tom Clark and Tom Haines provided a solid start, reaching 66 before losing their first wicket. Shortly after, Tom Clark was dismissed at 80.

Following Clark's dismissal, the highlight of the day occurred as Cheteshwar Pujara made his way to the crease.

The video showed Pujara donning his gloves while descending the stairs and walking through the opulent Long Room, a setting often used for dinners and luncheons and the traditional passage for players to the ground. His presence was met with admiration from fans and attendees.

Pujara, 38, is known for his determination and hunger for runs. His impressive form continued as he aimed for another successful county season, potentially earning one final call back to the Indian national team.

The Saurashtra stalwart last played a Test match for India in the 2023 World Test Championship final and had an excellent Ranji Trophy season with 829 runs at an average of 69.08.

Pujara, who also captained Sussex previously, remains a key player for the team. His walk through the Long Room was a moment of sheer cricketing nostalgia, showcasing his unwavering spirit and dedication to the game.
