Former Indian cricketer and renowned commentator Aakash Chopra believes that the absence of Virat Kohli in the remainder of the Test series against England does not mean that India will lose the series.

The five-match series is currently placed at 1-1, with Kohli missing both games due to personal reasons. The BCCI has released the squad for the remaining three Tests with the former Indian skipper excluded from it.

Chopra, in a video on his YouTube channel, answered if India would suffer in the series due to Kohli's absence. He said,

"I won't go that far. Let's be honest, life doesn't stop because of someone's coming or going. Life must go on, the show must go on. We are feeling Kohli's absence a lot, I will be very honest."

Notably, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has respected Virat Kohli's decision to withdraw from the remaining test series against England. The reason behind Kohli's absence from the series remains uncertain.

Meanwhile, Chopra admitted that missing Kohli in the first two Tests was a big blow for the hosts as he would have smashed a lot of runs against England's current bowling attack.

"Considering the bowling standards and the sort of pitch that was there in Vizag and when we got to bat for the first time in Hyderabad, Kohli would have scored at least one 150 in the two matches because he wouldn't have stopped against this ordinary bowling, in which Rehan Ahmed gets bored."

Kohli has racked up a solid 4144 runs in 50 Tests in India, averaging a whopping 60.05. His absence is definitely a major blow for India as he is the backbone of the middle order, bringing loads of stability to the team.
