India's star T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav and Manchester United football giant Ole Gunnar Solskjaer attended a special event in Bengaluru and indulged in an amusing conversation, where Solskjaer shared some sporting tips and his mantra with the explosive batter.

Out of action since December when he blasted a century in the T20I series against South Africa, Suryakumar has undergone two surgeries in the last few weeks. The first was for a persistent ankle issue the cricketer was facing and then the second was for the sports hernia problem in his groin as it had worsened over time taking extensive workload.

Suryakumar was open to talk about his injuries and rehab with Solskjaer and said it's a result of being constantly on the road over the past two years. In response, the football great told the Indian player, as per Hindustan Times, "Sometimes you need that time off just to refresh your head and go again."

Solskjaer then amusingly told Suryakumar not to retire too early as the two sportspersons posed for photos with the footballer holding the Indian cricket team jersey and the extravagant batter taking up the Manchester United gear.

"Enjoy it as long as you can. It is always best when you are active. Don't retire too early," Solskjaer said to Suryakumar, who is currently recuperating from his surgeries and is fighting a race against time to be fit for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Integral to the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI), their middle-order match-winner is undergoing rehab at the NCA in Bangalore with the IPL 2024 scheduled to begin in less than six weeks from now. Suryakumar is also critical to India's chances of reclaiming the T20 World Cup title in June.
