An video featuring former Pakistan cricket team director Mohammad Hafeez has surfaced, reigniting controversy amidst his recent resignation. In the clip from the show "The Pavilion," Hafeez, alongside cricket legends Wasim Akram and Misbah-ul-Haq, can be seen discussing players' injuries, with Hafeez remarking, "Injured player na, League ke liye fit hain".

This statement has garnered attention, shedding light on Hafeez's unfiltered opinions - which has made headlines on the next day after the inaugration of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024.

Recently, Hafeez left his job at the Pakistan Cricket Board. His resignation comes following a dispute with senior players over the tedious nature of his conferences and team meetings, as well as his reluctance to provide NOCs for players to participate in foreign leagues.

His tenure, lasting only two and a half months, saw Pakistan's team suffer a Test series whitewash in Australia and a 4-1 loss in the T20I series against New Zealand.

The controversy further deepens as Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf faces a potential ban for prioritizing league cricket over national commitments, resulting in his absence during the Australia tour earlier this year.

The resurfacing of this video adds fuel to the ongoing debate surrounding the prioritization of league cricket over national duties within the Pakistani cricketing fraternity.
