'Kohli's Hunger And Intensity...': Shubman Gill Lauds King Kohli After Historic Ton

Former captain Virat Kohli rose to the occasion and created history during India's ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 semi-final clash against New Zealand at Wankhede, which left former greats, celebrities, and even his teammates speechless.

Kohli slammed his 50th ODI century and surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's record tally of 49, much to the jubilation of the latter, who was seated in the stadium, during India's 70-run win over New Zealand at Mumbai.

Touted as the next big thing in Indian cricket after Kohli, Shubman Gill also excelled against the Black Caps scoring a brisk 80*, who in the post-match conference reserved high praise for his senior Kohli.

As quoted by India Today, Gill talked about what makes Kohli different from the rest and how the former skipper keeps being an inspirational figure for all.

Here's what Gill said

"You know, every time he comes on to the park, he does something special and just how consistently he's been able to do it for the past 10-15 years is what is really inspiring. And I think for me, it's not so much about the skill that he has, but it's more about the hunger when he goes there and the intensity with which he plays the game is what inspires me. And to be able to have that consistently for as long as he's been doing it is what really inspires me,"

Having qualified for the World Cup Final, India now awaits the winner of second semi-final between Australia and South Africa.
