Just a few days ago, Virat Kohli hung up his boots from the Test format, and the entire cricket world is still processing the heartbreak. His departure marks the end of an era, filled with passion, grit, and countless milestones that most players can only dream of.

Having conquered countless milestones, former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina said Kohli has achieved everything except the IPL trophy.

Kohli Has Everything Except the IPL Trophy: Raina

In the IPL arena, Virat Kohli and the IPL trophy share the tale of an unfulfilled love story. Even after playing the tournament for 18 years now, Kohli is still hunting the coveted title. After a week of suspension, the IPL 2025 is resuming on May 17, and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru are set to face the Kolkata Knight Riders.

As King Kohli is ready to step onto the ground, former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina believes Kohli has achieved everything but the IPL trophy. While talking on the Star Sports’ show 'Game Plan', he said that if Virat keeps shining with his trademark brilliance this season, that long-awaited dream could finally become a reality.

“Absolutely, he has retired (from Tests) just now, and will get a different happiness if he wins RCB the trophy. He is RCB's unbeatable strength. He has got everything in life, just the RCB trophy hasn't come. He will definitely work hard for that. I feel RCB can lift the trophy this year if Virat Kohli plays 'Virat' knocks,” Raina said.

Raina Rallies The Squad To Seal The Big Dream

As the side is chasing it for long, Raina asks for player support to turn the dream into reality. Praising Kohli’s sharp cricketing mind, he believes the short break before the season’s resumption could be the perfect spark to unleash Kohli’s best once again.

“The other 10 players need to respond to him and stay alongside him. He knows how to read the situation. We have seen his running between the wickets along with his cricketing shots. A different energy will be seen now. He has already gotten a break. A different form will be seen. He has done it in the past, so why not now? He will be even more eager to do it now,” he said.

This season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have flipped the script, turning past flaws into newfound strengths. After a dazzling start, they registered eight thrilling victories along with 3 defeats. While standing in the second position with 16 points, they are just one step away from securing the playoff spot. With their exceptional fans, fans are anticipating their maiden IPL trophy.
