This evening, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 58th group-stage affair of the IPL 2025 season. The much-awaited game is scheduled at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Rain Threatens RCB vs KKR IPL 2025 Clash

Meanwhile, the weather at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru doesn't look promising as RCB gear up to face KKR tonight. According to AccuWeather, there's an eighty per cent chance of precipitation, which might lead to a washout in Bengaluru.

As rain threat looms large on the RCB vs KKR clash, let's see how both teams' playoffs chances will be affected if the game gets called off.

What If RCB vs KKR Gets Called Off Due To Rain?

If the upcoming RCB vs KKR IPL 2025 match ends without a result, both teams will add a point each to their tally. This will take RCB to 17 points in twelve matches, powering them to the top of the points table.

RCB will get two more opportunities to secure a win and finish the group-stage as one of the top two teams. Meanwhile, the same thing can't be said for KKR, who desperately need a victory to stay alive in the playoffs race.

Currently, KKR are placed sixth in the standings with eleven points. God forbid if their upcoming game against RCB gets abandoned, it will take their tally to 12 points, with only one match remaining.

Thus, they can finish the group stage with 14 points at max, that too if they win their final fixture against SRH. However, GT, RCB and PBKS already have more than 14 points under their belt and with more than one match remaining, MI and DC seem the frontrunners for the fourth spot.

So, KKR, in their wildest of dreams, can't take a washout, as it could virtually mark their group-stage exit from the IPL 2025. RCB, on the other hand, will only get benefitted by the abandonment of this fixture.
