In the light of Kohli’s retirement from Test cricket earlier this month, RCB fans across social media began planning to give a fitting tribute to the legendary Indian batter by wearing his Test jersey number 18 at the stadium.
On Friday, May 16, i.e., a day before RCB’s home match against defending champions KKR, fans were spotted selling Kohli’s number 18 Test jersey outside the Chinnaswamy venue.

RCB fans have been spotted selling the number 18 Test jersey of Virat Kohli outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. With just a day away from RCB’s IPL 2025 resumption match against KKR, fans can be seen buying the jersey as they prepare themselves to throw a grand tribute to the glorious Test career of the legendary Indian batter.
Virat Kohli confirmed his retirement from Test cricket earlier this month to bring an end to his glorious 123-match career. With 9,230 runs from 210 innings at an average of 46.85, the 36-year-old retired as one of India’s leading run-aggregators in the format.
In the ongoing IPL 2025 season, Kohli has accrued 505 runs from 11 innings at a stupendous average of 63.12 and at a staggering strike rate of 143.46. Listing seven half-centuries in the process, the cricketer plundered four of those in succession in the last four innings for the RCB.
With RCB in the playoffs, Virat Kohli will now reprise his role for the franchise on Saturday, May 17 with a match against KKR. The match will be hosted by the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and the action will commence from 7:30 PM IST onwards.
