Sarfaraz Khan, one of India’s top-performing batters in domestic cricket, has once again been left out of the Indian Test team for the upcoming England tour. The 27-year-old from Mumbai had impressed many with his performance, including a solid 150-run knock against New Zealand last year, but still hasn't been given many chances at the international level.

Although Sarfaraz was part of the India A team that toured England recently and even scored 92 runs in a match at Canterbury, he was not included in the main Test squad. This decision surprised many, including former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh.

Harbhajan’s Heartfelt Advice To Sarfaraz Khan

Reacting to the news, Harbhajan said he was shocked to see Sarfaraz’s name missing from the squad. But he urged the young batter not to lose hope and take inspiration from Karun Nair, who also went through a tough time in his career.

Karun had once scored a triple century against England but was later dropped from the team. Still, he kept performing in domestic cricket and has now earned a spot back in the squad after seven years.

“It’s really unfortunate. I was quite surprised to see his name missing from the squad. But I believe he’ll bounce back stronger. He has the determination to make a comeback. My advice to him is to stay positive, your time will come. Just look at Karun Nair. He scored a triple century against England but didn’t get many chances afterward. Now, he’s back for the England series,” Harbhajan told PTI.

Sarfaraz Khan Smashes 76-Ball Century Against India

Sarfaraz has been in great touch recently. In a practice match within the Indian team, he smashed 101 runs off just 76 balls, hitting 15 fours and 2 sixes. So far, he has played six Test matches and scored 371 runs, with a good average of 37.10. His most memorable innings was a 150-run knock against New Zealand in Bengaluru last year.

To prepare for the England tour, Sarfaraz even went through a strict fitness routine and lost 10 kilograms. But despite all the effort and strong performances, he didn’t get a spot in the squad. Instead, the selectors have chosen two uncapped players, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Sai Sudharsan, for the Test series.
