Rohit further praised Angelo Mathews’ achievements, noting that such longevity and success in Test cricket is a rare feat.

“It is something that has not been achieved by many people. I wish you and your family a very very happy retirement. Will see you on the other side bro,” he added, signaling the camaraderie and friendship that transcends international rivalry.

Angelo Mathews, who announced his retirement from Test cricket earlier this month, has been a stalwart for Sri Lanka, with a career spanning over 16 years and 119 Test matches.

Rohit Sharma’s message serves as a fitting tribute from a contemporary and rival who played against each other in 47 matches. He celebrated Mathews’ remarkable contribution to the sport and wished him well in the next chapter of his life.
