Team India are gearing up to face South Africa in the second Test, scheduled to be played on January 3 in Cape Town. It's a do-or-die Test for India after suffering an embarrassing defeat in the first test by an innings and 32 runs at Centurion.

Meanwhile, Team India is chasing that elusive test series win in South Africa. Although the opportunity slipped away this time, they can salvage a draw by clinching the second test. The Indian players are grinding it out in the nets to escape a clean sweep.

Rohan Deshmukh, who covered the practice session for Star Sports, revealed the details on the players and how they looked during the net practices.

Here’s what he said in a video he shared on Monday:

"Many players came around 9:30 AM. Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill started the proceeding. Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill played six balls each on the centre wickets. In front of them were Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravichandran Ashwin. They played for around half an hour. They face bowling of specific lengths."

The Indian batting wizard, Virat Kohli, was seen in a serious batting session leading up to the second test. He was so committed to his practice that he kindly asked the cameramen to give him some space to focus on his batting.

“It was a good practice. They then went to the nets. There also they batter for 20 minutes. Virat Kohli was focused. Unhone aas paas jitne bhi camerapersons then unko side me kiya (He told the camerapersons to move to a side). He wanted a practice with intent.”

There is much anticipation about India's playing XI for the second Test, with experts predicting two possible changes. In the first change, Ravichandran Ashwin may be swapped for Ravindra Jadeja, while for the second Mukesh Kumar could come in for Prasidh Krishna.
