Rohit Sharma is known to speak his mind in his interviews and his no fuss attitude with a good tinge of humour has made him one of the most loved cricketers in the world. There has been lot of talk in recent times regarding Rohit Sharma and his captaincy future but the man even after the loss against South Africa in the first Test, sounds clear in his ideas.

In the press conference ahead of the second Test at Newlands, Cape Town, Rohit Sharma has revealed that he hated batting at number 3 position and it is not his preferred position. However, Rohit backed Shubman Gill to come good at the important number 3 position and added that Gill himself prefers to bat at number 3 and the young batter himself feels that he can do the job at that position.

"Shubman Gill prefers to bat at No. 3 and he feels he can do well for us batting at that position. I personally hated batting at No. 3."

Gill has been pretty ordinary at number 3 position since he has moved at that position during the West Indies series. Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, has batted at number 3 in the past but was not successful, and got his mojo finally as an opener.

From India's point of view, it is imperative that both of them fire at their preferred position in the second Test against South Africa, as they try to level the series in South Africa.
