In a display of fielding brilliance that lit up the third T20I against Zimbabwe, India's Ravi Bishnoi pulled off what is being hailed as one of the catches of the year.

The Ravi Bishnoi catch occurred during Avesh Khan’s fourth over when Zimbabwe's Brian Bennett fiercely sliced a length delivery, seemingly destined for the deep backward point boundary.

However, Bishnoi, with a leap that defied gravity, snagged the ball with both hands to the amazement of all in attendance.

The jaw-dropping moment quickly turned the 22-year-old leg-spinner into the centre of celebration, as his teammates rushed to commend his efforts.

This Ravi Bishnoi catch left Zimbabwe faltering at 19 for 3 in their chase of 183, a situation from which they never fully recovered, ultimately falling short by 23 runs to give India a 2-1 series lead.

Post-match, the BCCI’s Twitter feed featured a video where Team India reflected on the catch.

Captain Shubman Gill didn't mince words, saying, “Was delightful to watch. The catch that Bishi (Bishnoi) took was absolutely remarkable.”

Rinku Singh praised Bishnoi’s consistency in fielding, stating, “He’s pulled off similar catches in the past both internationally and in the IPL.”

The bowler himself, Avesh Khan, playfully suggested that the wicket should be credited to Bishnoi.

“He is a great fielder and works a lot on his fielding. It's my wicket but it should go in his account,” said Avesh.

Washington Sundar, who had a front-row seat to the action, recounted the moment with excitement:

“It was a great opportunity for me to stand at mid-on and have a clear view of whatever happened throughout the catch. It went at a rocket speed and Bishnoi was there.”

The camaraderie shone through when Avesh queried Bishnoi about his immediate reaction.

Bishnoi responded with a grin, “We’ve been talking about stepping up our fielding game. Snagging catches off Avesh isn’t new for me—it’s normal for me. You never know if the catch is within reach unless you go for it, so I always do.”

This sensational fielding effort not only highlighted Bishnoi's agility and readiness but also showed the team's spirit and their resolve to clinch the series.
