India's eagerly anticipated new head coach, Gautam Gambhir, is poised to kick off his tenure with Team India in July 2024, commencing with the Sri Lanka series.

While there are many reports circulating regarding who would be his support staff during his tenure until ODI World Cup 2027, a series of notable names have emerged, such as Abhishek Nayar, Zaheer Khan, and Lakshmipathy Balaji, who could potentially join him in this journey, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise.

Amidst all this fiasco, Gautam Gambhir's childhood coach, Sanjay Bharadwaj, recently spoke with PTI and described Gambhir as having a 'golden heart', a quality that bodes well for his coaching role. He also discussed Gambhir's long-standing relationships with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Gambhir's Coach On His Bond With Kohli-Rohit:

"He has played with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the past. Long back, he had once given his 'Man of the Match' to Virat. That shows his golden heart. He told me long back that Rohit Sharma will become a great player one day. This was when Rohit was not among the runs and needed some encouragement. His observation about Rohit proved accurate," Bhardwaj said.

As many might believe, Gambhir has some big shoes to fill as Rahul Dravid's recent T20 WC 2024 victory has raised the hopes of the newly appointed two-time World Cup-winning coach, Gambhir.

Despite the absence of Rohit, Kohli, and Bumrah in his first assignment, Gambhir is unwavering in his determination to kick off his tenure with a resounding victory.

Moreover, as confirmed by BCCI's secretary Jay Shah, Rohit and Kohli, who recently retired from T20Is, will continue playing at least until the 2025 Champions Trophy.
