Delhi Capitals' pace arsenal receives a significant boost as powerhouse Andre Nortje makes a successful return from injury, rejoining the team's camp. His comeback couldn't be more timely, as he gears up to take the field in the upcoming clash against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.

In their match against Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals faced bowling challenges due to the absence of key player Andre Nortje,. His absence had a notable impact as Delhi suffered a defeat by 4 wickets. The inclusion of four foreign batters by Delhi Capitals in that game had a noticeable impact on their bowling performance.

However, with Nortje returning to the lineup, it's anticipated that Tristan Stubbs might have to make way to accommodate him.

Nortje excited to be back in IPL

Nortje, who hadn't played cricket since September 2023, missed significant events such as the ODI World Cup for South Africa and India's tour of South Africa last December and January. Nortje also missed last year's IPL due to a groin injury he sustained just before the tournament.

After landing in India, Nortje couldn't control his excitement for the IPL season and stated that it's good to back with the Delhi Capitals.

"Yeah, it's good to be here again. Obviously, high intensity, great training sessions, world-class players around, coaches around. It's just really good to be here, really good to be involved with the team again. It's been a while, and obviously. I have played three domestic games, But it's really good to be here again and having this intensity, especially at training as well. All the facilities, so, yeah, I'm really excited to get going. Had a good break. Had a long break. Extended break to just get the body to recover," Nortje told the official social media handle of the Delhi Capitals.

Nortje also shared heartwarming news from his personal life - he's now a proud father to a baby girl named Amelia.
