Sai Sudharsan seems to be in prolific touch with the bat for the Gujarat Titans off late. The young left-handed batter has racked up nearly 300 runs from just five innings with three alluring half-centuries to find himself among the leading contenders to bag the coveted ‘Orange Cap’.
Notably, Sudharsan was retained by the Titans franchise prior to the IPL 2025 mega auction last year for a staggering sum of Rs. 8.5 crores. Having made his IPL debut in 2022 for the same franchise at the age of age for a sum of Rs. 20 lakhs, his IPL 2025 price tag is a testament to his meteoric rise and growing stature in the league.
Sai Sudharsan states how he views his IPL price tag
During an interview with the Times of India, Gujarat Titans star Sai Sudharsan was asked if he ever feels any pressure in justifying his staggering IPL price tag this season. The cricketer responded that his latest price bracket gives him “more freedom” instead.
Sudharsan added that his focus is to give his best performance on the field rather than thinking about the money. He said:
“I look at it differently. Now I’m in a different price bracket. It gives me more freedom because there is no fear or restriction from my point of view. It’s all about cricket from now on. It’s all about exploring and giving my best rather than thinking about what I will do to earn money.”
With 273 runs from five innings with three half-centuries, Sai Sudharsan is ranked second among the leading run-getters of the IPL 2025 season.
The Gujarat Titans star will now go up against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise in match number 26 of the competition on Saturday, April 12. The match will be hosted by the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
