Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins has stated that his team is batting with calculated aggression and not swinging at every ball blindly. While the results haven’t been in SRH’s favour so far, Cummins is happy with his team’s approach.
SRH finds itself struggling with 3 consecutive defeats in IPL 2025. With just 1 win in 4 games, Hyderabad have stumbled to the bottom of the points table. The key problem behind their defeats have been their famous batting lineup.
While the team has somewhat of a destructive batting lineup, their intent has failed to generate any results in the last 3 games. But regardless skipper Pat Cummins has no problems with that.
Pat Cummins Wants SRH To Maintain Aggressive Intent
While the hype around SRH’s potential to breach the 300-run mark has cooled down after their explosive start to the season, captain Pat Cummins is focused on the bigger picture, consistency and smart hitting.
The captain applauded his batting side's strategy, admiring their capacity to strike at a clip of 200 without going into dangerous territory.
“Most of our players are pretty aggressive. In the first game where we got 280 odd, what stood out for me was it wasn’t reckless. It was calculated aggression. I think we’re lucky we’ve got such strength that it’s never just blind swinging. Our guys are actually well suited to striking at 200. So that’s what we always encourage,” Cummins said.
Despite underwhelming outings from top-order hitters Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan since their explosive opener, Cummins believes it’s just a matter of time before the batting unit clicks again.
“Look it started out with pretty much as well as we could’ve played which is great for new squad and then next two games haven’t gone to plan or been our best. Probably haven’t had the luck you sometimes hope for. We would like to have more mins but pretty happy with how the group is going. Everyone’s really positive. Still a long way to go in the tournament,” he added.

After a thunderous start to their campaign, SRH’s form has spiralled with three back-to-back defeats, leaving them at the bottom of the points table.
Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, are flying high after bouncing back from an early loss. They have notched up 2 consecutive wins and currently sit comfortably in 4th place with four points from three games.
