MS Dhoni gets trolled by Sidhu [Source: @RealGoat_45, @sherryontopp/X.com]
In a moment of embarrassment, MS Dhoni failed to dispatch a free hit for a six into the stands during a recent clash between CSK and DC. Navjot Singh Sidhu, the commentator on air, trolled Dhoni by calling him a dud firecracker.
In the match played on April 5, Delhi Capitals had won the toss and elected to bat first. Their batsmen produced a good score of 183/6 off 20 overs with a major input from KL Rahul.
In response, Chennai Super Kings were off to a shaky start and never truly recovered. Despite having wickets in hand, CSK struggled to accelerate, eventually managing only 158/5 in their full quota of overs. The 25-run loss was CSK's third loss in their first four matches of the season, a cause for concern for the men in yellow.
MS Dhoni Trolled As He Failed To Hit Sixes Vs DC
However, what truly set social media abuzz wasn’t just the result, it was Navjot Singh Sidhu’s fiery comment on MS Dhoni during the live commentary.
As Mohit Sharma came in to bowl the 14th over, he delivered a no-ball, gifting Dhoni a free hit. The CSK legend, however, surprisingly failed to capitalise, mistiming the delivery.
Sidhu, the one who never holds back, called MS Dhoni a bud firecracker, referring to Dhoni’s failure to make use of the free hit. He anticipated the former legend to hit a six but he unfortunately didn’t meet Sidhu’s expectations.
That being said, time is running out for CSK to bounce back in the season. With 3 losses in 4 games, they have slipped to 8th position in the points table.
Dhoni's Slow Knock Scripts Unwanted Record
MS Dhoni, the name once synonymous with finishing games in style, is now facing a wave of scrutiny after yet another sluggish knock in IPL 2025. In CSK’s 25-run loss to Delhi Capitals at Chepauk, the veteran batter took 19 deliveries to hit his first boundary which is the most by any batter in this season so far as he set up an unwanted record.
