Rinku Singh has recently been one of the best finds for Indian cricket. Since making his India debut, the youngster has displayed composure, temperament, and intent, catching everyone's eye in his brief career.

In the second T20I against South Africa last evening, Rinku slammed his maiden 20-overs format fifty for India, which sadly came in a losing cause. However, the KKR batter's knock earned praise from none other than former India captain Sunil Gavaskar.

Rinku, 26, slammed 68* off 39 balls, which included nine fours and two towering sixes, helping India reach 180.

Speaking to Star Sports, Gavaskar explained how the maiden half-century will only help Rinku's confidence moving forward while lauding the batter's innings.

Here's what Gavaskar said

"I think you know what we have seen is that he is getting better when he goes out to play. He hasn't had the opportunity like he has this time around and had a number of overs to play."

"He made very good use of it. He's got all the shots in the book. He can hit you off the front foot. He can hit you off the back foot as you see over there, with the lofted shot. He's got all the shots in the book on the offside and and on the leg side. Well, once he gets going, it's hard to keep him quiet, so it will do his confidence a lot of good to get that first half century."

In 11 T20Is, Rinku has scored 248 runs at an average of 87.66 and an astounding strike rate of 183.70.

The Aligarh-born will be in action on December 14, when India play to deny South Africa a series win in the final and third T20I.
