Rajasthan Royals pulverized Gujarat Titans in match number 47 of the IPL 2025 season at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. On the heels of five successive defeats, the Royals chased down 210 runs in just 15.5 overs to make lightwork of Titans’ monumental total.
Teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi headlined Rajasthan Royals’ run-chase by unfurling a record century, scoring 101 runs in all from just 38 deliveries with seven boundaries and 11 huge sixes. Suryavanshi’s batting mayhem even seems to have won over Titans captain and Indian opening batter Shubman Gill, who admitted his team’s comprehensive defeat to the teenager.
Shubman Gill hails young Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill expressed his admirations for Rajasthan Royals opening batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi. After the match, Gill said:
“It was Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s day, his hitting was tremendous and he made full use of it.”
Opening the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal, young Vaibhav Suryavanshi clobbered 101 runs from just 38 balls with seven fours and 11 sixes. The cricketer shared a match-defining 166-run partnership with Jaiswal in less than 12 overs before getting cleaned up by Prasidh Krishna.

Suryavanshi reached his century from just 35 balls to record the second fastest hundred in the history of IPL. Aged 14 years and 32 days, the left-handed opening batter also became the youngest cricketer in IPL history to score a half-century, and a century.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his IPL debut earlier this season with a match against the LSG in Jaipur. So far, he has tallied 151 runs from three innings at an exceptional batting average of 50.33 and a staggering strike rate of 215.71.
Nonetheless, Suryavanshi and the rest of his Rajasthan Royals teammates will now face Mumbai Indians in match 50 of the IPL 2025 season on Thursday, May 1 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
