Mohammed Siraj's dismissal at Lord's during the third Test between India and England for the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy now appears to be another massive heartbreak for Indian cricket fans after the 2019 World Cup saga. Interestingly, critics and commentators have come up with their take on the dismissal.

In an attempt to defend the ball in a backfoot stance, the ball slowly trickled down to touch the stumps, and for an utter disappointment to Siraj and the Indian cricket community, the bails dislodged and India was standing there, halted, shocked and unable to fathom the intensity of the wicket. Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik however, had an interesting take on the dismissal.

Karthik Stresses Importance Of Bails In Siraj's Dismissal

Speaking to Sky Sports Cricket on their YouTube channel, Dinesh Karthik pointed out the significance of the bails that fell down after the slight tampering to the wicket by the ball.

"If it was zinger bail, probably it wouldn’t have even fallen because it’s pretty heavy in itself. (The ball) Hit the rough and went around, it almost felt like it had to happen because of how the match was panning out but a great effort from India," Karthik said.

Yet, Karthik stressed the positive aspect of the game that was heroically fought by Jadeja, Bumrah and Siraj during and after the second session.

"They can take a lot of happiness out of the way they actually fought in that middle session," Karthik added.

A game which was thought to have been finished way ahead of lunch was dragged after a delayed Tea as Jadeja stood heroically protecting the tail and slowly closing down on the target. Nevertheless, England won by 22 runs and got the upper hand in the series with 2-1.

For India, with the series on the line now, the Manchester test will be crucial to win yet the Men in Blue face serious hurdles with Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant in doubt to join for the 4th Test because of workload management.
