Ace speedster Jofra Archer helped England get a massive breakthrough early on day 5, dismissing Rishabh Pant in the first session. After Pant smashed him for a boundary straight down the ground, Archer silenced the Indian crowd by castling the batter with an absolute ripper.

Archer Runs Through Pant's Defence, Gives Him A Mouthful

The incident occurred during the 21st over of India's second innings when Rishabh Pant was trying to steady the ship with KL Rahul. Bowling his second over of the day, Archer bowled a full length delivery which Pant dispatched to the fence with authority.

Two balls later, the scenario turned upside down, as Archer cleaned up Pant with a magnificent delivery. From around the wicket, the right-arm seamer hit the hard length as the ball straightened off the wicket after pitching. Pant tried to defend it by staying inside the line; however, the ball beat his outside edge and uprooted the off-stump.

Archer was pumped up after getting Pant out, as the southpaw's wicket held significant importance for the home side. He went near the batter and gave him an aggressive send off.

It's worth mentioning that Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj gave a similar send-off to Ben Duckett, following which the ICC fined him 15 per cent of his match fees and handed him a demerit point.

So, Archer, who took the revenge of Duckett, might find himself in troubled waters if the ICC finds him guilty of breaching its code of conduct.

Meanwhile, India are in serious trouble in their second innings. After losing Pant, the visitors were jolted with a massive setback, with Ben Stokes trapping KL Rahul plumb in front of the stumps. As of writing, India were tottering at 81 for six, with Ravindra Jadeja batting on 7*.
