Fans have been abuzz since the announcement of Rinku Singh's inclusion in the Indian team for the upcoming Ireland series. Following a stunning IPL 2023 season with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the dynamic young batter earned his maiden call-up to the Indian team. The team, now helmed by the returning, Jasprit Bumrah left for Ireland on Tuesday.

Rinku Singh took to the skies and shared excitement for first international outing

The southpaw's IPL exploits speak volumes: a staggering 474 runs across 14 innings at an impressive strike rate of 149.53. His three pivotal half-centuries became instrumental in anchoring KKR through crucial junctures of the season.

As he joined the Indian team, the ecstatic southpaw shared his enthusiasm with fans on Instagram. Featuring a photo aboard the plane, he wrote, When dreams come true. All set for my maiden tour with #TeamIndia. Off to Ireland @indiancricketteam.”

With the Asia Cup 2023 around the corner, starting August 30, the BCCI’s strategy is evident, opting to rest their marquee players like Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, and Shubman Gill, making way for emerging talent to shine in the Ireland series.

For seasoned players including Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Sanju Samson, and Tilak Varma, the series isn't just another set of matches.

While Bumrah and Krishna will be under the lens to demonstrate their fitness levels, Samson and Varma are on the hunt to cement their spots for the much-anticipated World Cup 2023.

The Ireland versus India series will commence on Friday, August 18 at The Village in Dublin, with the subsequent T20Is unfolding on August 20 and August 23 at the same venue.
