As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is about to commence, excitement among fans is sky-high, especially for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) supporters.

Their enthusiasm has been further fueled by the RCB women's team's recent triumph in the Women's Premier League (WPL). Now, RCB legend AB de Villiers expresses confidence in the men's team clinching their first IPL trophy this season.

RCB, led by Faf du Plessis, is set to start their campaign against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Chepauk Stadium on March 22.

Despite reaching the finals thrice in the past 16 seasons without victory, de Villiers believes this could be their year. During the CNN-News18 Rising Bharat Summit in New Delhi, de Villiers, alongside cricket notables like Brett Lee and Aakash Chopra, shared his optimism.

 "I really do believe we can win it. We will win it this year," de Villiers remarked, highlighting the unpredictable nature of cricket that adds to its thrill.

De Villiers, a pivotal figure for RCB from 2011 to 2021, amassed 5162 runs over his tenure, becoming a franchise legend.

He points to the RCB women's team's success as a beacon of hope, suggesting that a victory for the men's team could set off a series of wins.

 "I think the women have broken the shackles, and once RCB gets one win, there’s going to be quite a few wins back-to-back," he stated.

With a refreshed name from Bangalore to Bengaluru and a new blue and red jersey, RCB is looking to make a fresh start. Virat Kohli, another crucial player for the team, also looks Optimistic For RCB Winning IPL 2024.

Under Faf du Plessis's leadership, the team aims to turn their past near-misses into a celebrated victory in IPL 2024.
